Tuesday 23 September 2014

Well, hello there~ I don't get called "sexy" all the time so this is very much welcome.

Indeed, I received this by courier (sadly the mail man did not greet me in the same way too) and am pleased to let you know that I was very generously invited by Luxasia Singapore to review the products by Glamglow

Being a cosmetics/face products junkie, I was naturally very excited to try out the following products that were sent to me:

1. ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment
2. BrightMud Eye Treatment
3. YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

Some background about Glamglow from their website -

GLAMGLOW was founded in 2010 by Glenn & Shannon Dellimore exclusively for behind-the-scenes in the Hollywood Entertainment, Music, Fashion & Award Industries. Recently made available in 2011 for retail, GLAMGLOW has taken the world by storm with accolades such as:

- ELLE Magazine's No.1 Beauty Obsession
- Harrods Best Seller
- Voted Sephora HOT NOW
- Winner of the coveted Neiman Marcus Beauty Awards

For all you beauty junkies wriggling in your seats, let's start shall we? :)

ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment

Love the packaging without a single doubt. Turquoise and silver in colour with glossy shiny words to boot. Only for glam girls, uh huh.

Inside, the cream was a brownish thick texture. To be fair in my critique, I used it nightly for two weeks in order to gain/see the best results.

Okay as you guys know, me being a complete fan of Korean products, I like my night creams to be light and my day creams lighter. Glamglow is a little too heavy for my liking (even for night) cause I don't like my face to be sticky. This is really personal preference cause I used to be the kind that don't even put sunblock because I LOATHE having anything on my face. Now different story though, I use at least 5 layers consisting of moisturiser, make-up base, sunblock, cc cream and concealer daily LOL.

Anyway, I also thought the smell of the cream was that of food. Sweet food. Cannot place exactly what kind of food, but it is definitely sweet. Overall, I would give it a 6/10. #diehardkoreanproductsfansorry

BrightMud Eye Treatment

I thought that it had a bit of a herbal smell which was quite overpowering. Upon application around the eyes, you'll feel that the texture is pretty seedy. Just apply it around your eye area up till your cheekbone (that's what I did), and wash off/wipe off with a tissue about 3 mins later. There was a slight stinging feeling towards the end, but after cleaning it up there is a clear feeling of tightening around the eye area.

I would recommend washing it off with water because it gives a more refreshing feeling. Also, you'll be able to see clearer that the eye area is instantly smoother and brighter.

Overall, the product seems pretty effective in terms of eye brightening, but I would drop points for the medicinal smell and slight stinging. 7/10.

YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment

This is 2014 ELLE's International Beauty Award Winner for The Best Exfoliating Mask.

This formula was designed for Hollywood’s entertainment, music, fashion and award industries for camera-ready soft glowing skin. It is also supposedly suitable for all skin types. I was highly skeptical because I have super sensitive skin. Y'know that kind that itches ridiculously when I accidentally brush it with my fingers. /nothing but exasperation for my skin/

So anyway when I put it on, I felt the tingly feeling almost immediately. Tinglexfoliate indeed. Stinging feeling similar to the eye treatment was also present. However, my pores felt instantly tighter.

I think if you can tank the slight burning feeling on your skin, this product is for you. It shows results definitely (best if you use it twice a week and apply moisturiser after), but I think the sensation might be too much for you girls with very sensitive skin. 7/10

Anyhow, thank you Huiqi from Luxasia for sending me these products to try. Anything for my face, I'm game. x

Calling out to all carb lovers! Domino's Pizza Singapore is introducing two exciting deals, which simply spell double delight.

I don't know about you, but I'll take pizza any day.

... which doesn't explain why I have a pizza on my head, but anyways.

Main point is, there are 28 unique pizza flavours to choose from; I daresay you'd be spoilt for choice. But that's not even the best part. Best part is, with the latest launch of "2 pizzas deal", you can order 2 regular pizzas from only $22 (saving as much as $23.60 which is more than what you're actually paying what the heck??) and it is...

...wait for it.

DELIVERED TO YOUR DOORSTEP.

you've got to be kidding me. Where got so good, you say.

I kid you not. I don't understand either. What money does Domino's make then? Beats me too.

The price list goes this way, like a poem:

2 regular pizzas: $22
2 large pizzas: $33
2 extra large pizzas: $44

This exciting deal is applicable anytime, any day, with free delivery service and no coupons required.

Can't wait to sink my teeth into all that wonderful bread. I mean, I already did. Did I also mention that there are a wide variety of sides as well? Let's just stop talking and let me show you what I mean.

Crazy Chicken Crunchies

Napolitana Baked Meatballs

Golden Roasted Drumlets (these are superb)

Cinnastix

Garlic Twisty Bread

Garlic Cheese Onion Rings

Highly delectable sides. I would highly recommend the drumlets and the onion rings. Already drooling while typing out this post. ㅠㅠ

Now let's move on to the pizzas!

Napolitana Chicken

Basilico Chicken

Classified Chicken

Hawaiian Paradise

Meatasaurus

Alfredo Prawn

Obviously I can't post all 28 pizzas, but these are just some yummy shots before I dived head-first into all the pizzas. Call me traditional or old-fashioned, but I thought the classic Hawaiian was pretty good. I liked the Napolitana Chicken too! All the green pepperrrrrs.

Jem was more interested in the Meatasaurus. Typical of boys. However, we both agreed that the Classified Chicken was too sweet for something so savoury like pizza. Personally, I like to keep my sweet and savoury separate. So if you don't like sweet pizzas, steer clear of that and remember, you have 27 more choices to choose from.

My handsome date, kekekeke

Dessert! Molten lava chocolate cake. Being a dessert-lover, I was initially very skeptical, because honestly, what sort of pizza joint will serve good chocolate cake?

BUT I was proven wrong. It was so delish! The outside was perfectly fluffy, and the inside was warm and moist. Lovely! And the best part is, it's only $4.80 if you add it on to a personal pizza! Please go try it guys, it's too good to be true.

The special thing about Domino's is, they guarantee a 30-min delivery from their outlet to your doorstep. The pizzas take a total of 12 mins to bake, and Domino's have a strict 15-min radius from-outlet-to-destination policy, with a 3 min allowance for traffic. So if you don't get your pizzas within half an hour, you get a free one on your next purchase.

Also, now you know, if Dominos don't deliver to your area, it means that your area is out of the 15-min allocated distance. It's either your house area is too ulu, or.... Domino's outlet is too ulu.

Well.

Some behind-the-scenes.

Yay to Domino's!

Thank you William from The Influencer Network & Domino's for the invite! x

Sunday 14 September 2014

If you guys follow my blog religiously, you'd know that I always only do food reviews, and occasionally product reviews. So when I received an invitation about two weeks ago to an opening of a new spa outlet, I was understandably excited.

Le Spa on 16A Chun Tin Road (opposite Beauty World) is a 24-hour massage parlour that combines traditional oriental therapy and modern technology to provide an avenue to release stress and revitalize our tired souls. With its wide range of in-house therapies and massages, you may be assured of a good rest in this little sanctuary.

There was a complimentary 1.5 hour massage for all bloggers who attended, and I am pleased to announce that I enjoyed a Le Urban Fusion massage that combined traditional Balinese and Chinese massage a week later.

Rates are as follows:

I must first add that I have never done a massage in Singapore before; I mostly do my massages when I go Bangkok. I am a very ticklish person by nature so needless to say, I giggled through the session like how I giggled my way through the Bangkok massages. Jem really liked it though. You can read his review here.

Obviously, there is some exasperation on the part of my masseuse. She mumbled about "already using the least strength" and how "I should do more massages in future to get used to the feeling".

Well noted. I should probably sign a package soon, eh?

There is one double room available.

and this is how a single room looks like.

The passage ways are nicely decorated in a modern style, with pebbles and candles lining the sides of the walkway.

The overall ambience was pretty comfortable, and I thought the only things that can be improved would be to increase the lavender scent of the place and increase the volume of the background music so as to enhance the getaway/escapade pampering feeling that you'll get when you're there.

They're currently having an "Opening Promotion" right now, so grab this opportunity to enjoy a full body massage!

My masseuse did not cut corners nor was she grumpy about the morning session (Jem and I booked our slots at 10am). The massage was thorough and she was careful to tuck my long hair into a shower cap before spreading the massage oil over my back. Best of all, there is a fully functional toilet that was pretty clean and had a shower room for me to take a quick shower when the session ended so that I did not have to put on my clothes on my oily body. Eeeeek.

You can check out their Le Spa's website and "like" their Facebook page here.
They are two locations to choose from:
14 Gemmill Lane, S(069253)
16A Chun Tin Road, S(599603)
Once again, they are open 24/7 (closed only for maintenance from 6am-10am), so contact them at 6222 6803/6222 6805 to book your appointment now!
Time to spam some photos from our morning rest stop before the spa session.

Thank you William from The Influencer Network and Le Spa for the invitation. Photos by Jem, the official photographer at the event, and me.

Have a lovely weekend, all of you! <3

Top: upcoming on Lila Mila
Pants: Zara
Accessories: Bangkok
Shoes: Korea

My very first outfit post! I haven't done this before and so pardon me for any inexperience that I might possibly show.

Got up really early last Tuesday morning to catch some sunrise shots with Ceph. We wanted to get some test shots (I wouldn't call this a photo shoot) and I thought I should get some practice with my poses.

Not that I'm a model; I'm not one. I just model for one blogshop, Lila Mila. In case you haven't heard of them, please check them out! They're owned by my close friends Mag and Liqin, and I think prices are pretty reasonable. They've got a good eye for some classic versatile pieces, too.

The top I'm wearing here is launching soon. It's comfy and non-sheer, so keep a lookout for it. The unique flare in the sleeves gives off a feminine vibe, and it looks totally Korean so I'm digging it!

Loving my hat, arm and neck candy here too - all from Bangkok, super cheap. Recently I'm into statement pieces that are classic and easy to match. Shoes are one of my best buys from Korea. It cost me like 36,000W (roughly $43) but it doesn't hurt at all and I can wear it for formal day work and parties at night. Missing Korea like mad please send me back there now!!

Going Hong Kong in about 2-3 weeks, can't wait! Tickets are already booked via SIA and I'm all set to whisk off for recess week ~
